Over the next few years Arborfield Green will be transformed into a Garden Village. We, as the local established churches of Arborfield and Barkham, are keen to be involved from the very beginning of this new community. So we are launching a new church on March 12 called Church@TheGreen.
It has long been our desire, as an outward looking church, to serve this new community along with the existing residents of Arborfield and Barkham but our churches were both at full capacity when the diggers arrived to start the building work for Arborfield Green. We recognised that we would not have the space within our existing church buildings to be able to welcome the new members of our community as the development grew, so we started planning and preparing. Last month 35 adults and 25 children left our existing congregations to begin this new church.
We meet every Sunday at 4pm at Bohunt School for about an hour and we run a full programme for children, as well as a crèche for babies. There are refreshments for everyone after the service and an opportunity to meet others from our local community in a more informal setting.
We welcome everyone, whether you’re interested in exploring Christianity, used to attending church or not, have questions about what life’s all about, or just want to check us out.
