Whilst we are still awaiting approval of the current draft Local Plan from the Secretary of State steps have been started for the preparation of the next Local Plan.
The first step was a “Call for Sites” inviting landowners and developers to put forward sites that have not already been included in the current draft Local Plan. That has now closed.
You will not be surprised to learn that a lot of the sites that had been promoted for development before have re-emerged – as well as new ones. Please see the land hatched on the attached plan showing the sites that have been put forward in Barkham and the surrounding area – many not for the first time. The next step is the “Local Plan 2045 Scoping Consultation” which started on the 5th October and will run until 16th November 2026, details of which are shown in the attached email from WBC.
