LOCAL ROADS

Barkham Street will be closed from Monday 3rd August to Friday the 7th August between 8pm until 6am from the junction with Barkham Road through to Barkham Ride: WBC say this is to carry out drainage investigation.

Thames Water have said that due to the complexity of re-aligning existing services down Bearwood  Road their new pipe laying works down that road will not be finished before the end of September or early October. But it is not clear whether they will be able to re-open Bearwood Road  (possibly with traffic lights) a little before then. But, of course when Thames Water do reach Barkham Road then they will be working their way down to the Bull – and beyond. And that almost certainly will  mean the closure of that section of  Barkham Road .

LIMMERHILL

We reported, in March, that the appeal for the construction of 60 dwellings on the land behind the Leathern Bottel had been refused.

However the developers have not been deterred and have just put in another outline application – this time for 42 houses – again accessed through the Leathern Bottel car park drive on to Barkham Road. Details are not yet available – but we will report when they are.

Kind Regards
